La Orotava residents urged to use new sports parks

Residents of La Orotava have been urged to use the new bio-health parks for the free practise of outdoor sports. The local council says it is committed to provoding more of these facilities in the municipality and there are already four. The first was in the Plaza Pedro Perdomo del Mayorazgo and is used daily by many people. Another has been created in the district of Benijos at a cost of 140,000 euros and will have facilities for walking, running or jogging around the site.

Adeje opens the biggest “park for all” in the borough

The Las Torres playground will reopen at the end of March and will be the largest inclusive park in the borough, completely adapted for people with mobility challenges and functional diversity in Adeje.   This initiative has meant an investment of nearly 50,000 euros and is part of the overall vision of the council in terms of integrating all of the leisure and play zones in the borough.

Guia de Isora work will be well worth it, says council

Council leaders have called for “patience and understanding” as work continues on bringing a new look to the centre of Guia de Isora. The authority says the project is vital to improve facilities and hope the results will “shine out” as future events are celebrated, including Easter.

La Orotava gets a drone to help with police work

Policing in La Orotava is to be helped with the arrival of a drone. The local council has acquired the new equipment for the Local Police and the Municipal Technical Office. The police will also form a new drone unit.

Tenerife recognises value of the five-star tourist

Tenerife hosted 675,000 tourists in five-star hotels in 2018, a figure that represents an increase of seven per cent over the previous year.
