British holidaymakers increase spending in Spain

Spain received 8.5 million international tourists during the month of June, which represents an increase of 1.3 per cent compared to the same month of 2017 and expenditure was 9,395 million euros, 4.5 per cent more. The figures are the result of surveys of Tourist Movements in Border (FRONTUR) and Tourist Expenditure (EGATUR) prepar-ed by the National Institute of Statistics.

Arona may offer calisthentics all year

One of the novelties that the Sports Board of Arona has included in the activities for this summer is calisthenics, within the “Arona Muévete” programme. This activity covered its quota in the month of July and for August there are few places left. Calisthenics has been installed in the municipality with great force, developing the activity in the summer period in Valle San Lorenzo (El Almendro) on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm and on Mondays and Wednesdays, at the same time, in Playa de Las Américas (Calle Las Madrigueras)

El Hierro finally gets its 21st century multi-million euro port

El Hierro has a port of the 21st century with ample possibilities to cover the demand of the island for the next generations. This was the verdict of Cabildo president , Belén Allende and the director of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Luis Santana, after a working meeting in the Port of La Estaca. They were accompanied by the Mayor of Valverde, Daniel Morales. Both the Cabildo and the Port Authority have completed the major investments in infrastructures and services at the port, one of the main entry points to the island. Thus in the last 15 years, there have been 25 million invested in La Estaca, one million of this in the last three years.
